Stallions 2008 award winners
Last night the Stallions had there year end banquet. P.C MLA Carl Benito and his wife Estrella were present to accept a special Thank you from the team regarding the Alberta Gov't grant the Stallions received this past season.
After a nice speach from the MLA, the Stallions then welcomed a special guest speaker. Former Edmonton Eskimo LB Danny Bass came up to the podium and shared some of his past football experiences for the team.
Then the awards were presented. The Capital Jeep Chrysler Teams MVP went to QB Willie King. The Offensive MVP went to RB Craig Carr and the Defensive MVP was presented to DB Rio Wells.
Special Teams MVP went to Rio Wells and the Rookie of the year was given to Patrick Jones. Hoggie of the year went to Rob Rogers and the Head Hunter went to Nathan Fung. The Stallions most Improved player went to DB Adam Middleton and the Troy Snaychuk Heart and Soul award was given to Gord Schroder.
All in all a very pleasent evening and now the sights are zeroed into the 2009 season. Congrats to all of the award winners and thank you to our guest speakers.

2008 AFL awards
Congrats to DB Rio Wells for being named the AFL Defensive MVP. Also, Congrats to the following Stallions for making the 2008 AFL all star team:
1st team All Stars - OT Bruce Theroux, OL Tim Mottershead, DE Tim Siewert, CB Grant Shaw and DHB Rio Wells.
2nd team All Stars - OC Gord Schroder, DE Guillaume Petit, DT Nathan Fung and LB Yuri Wishloff.
